The so-called young men had been exploited (i) since their childhood.

  • This is in reference to the chapter "Lost Spring" by Anees Jung. It is about how children lose their childhood due to child labour. The message and theme of this are to end the practice of child labour and exploitation and not let them lose their spring which is used metaphorically for childhood.
  • The young children in poor families are made to work as their philosophy is such that the more the amount of children working, the more will be the income. But in reality, it is not so as children are exploited so much, they are made to do odd jobs, working conditions are very hazardous and they even don't get sufficient pay for it.
  • All kinds of labour negatively affect their health, since they are already poor, hungry, and malnourished, so they have malnutrition and immunity issues. The conditions under which these children work are also exploitative and dangerous for their health.
  • Exploitation has been a part of children's lives since they were young. This chapter aims to end child labour and give dignity to such children.
