Therefore, Height=(7+x)cm

We know,

Area of triangle= ½ * base *height

30=½* x*7+x

30=½*7x+x²

7x+x²=30*2

=60

x²+7x–60=0

x²+(12–5)x–60=0

x²+12x–5x–60=0

x(x+12)–5(x–60)=0

(x+12)(x–5) =0

Now,

x+12=0

x=–12

OR

x–5 =0

x=5

We cannot take negative,hence x=5

Therefore, length of base=xcm

=5 cm

Therefore, height=(7+x )cm

=7+5 cm

=12 cm
