Explanation:

A. Landfills and reclaimed areas are made on the ground that is not solid enough to withstand the tremors caused during an earthquake. Hence, this type of land will not be able to support the heavy of the house and other property over them. Earthquakes can easily destroy buildings made in these areas.

B. Thunderstorms are electrically charged. Umbrellas mostly contain metal parts which are good conductors of electricity. The electric charge form thunderstorm can move into the umbrella and cause harm to the person carrying it. Therefore, it is nor safe carrying an umbrella during a thunderstorm.

C. A plastic is an insulator which gets electrically charges when rubbed on hair. It therefore attracts small bits of paper because paper gets polarized din the presence of charged plastic ruler resulting in a net force of attraction.

D. We see the lightning flash before we can hear thunder because, the speed of light is more than speed of sound.
