The highest and coldest ice glacier is the Siachen glacier which is situated at the borders of Kashmir.It is located in the eastern Karakoram range in the Himalayas where the line of control between India and Pakistan ends.It is about 20,000 feet height. Being 76km long,it is the longest glacier in the Karakoram. The temperature in Siachen glacier plunges as low as minus 60°C with 8-10ft deep snow.It is very difficult to reach up there.Pakistan claims sovereignty over the entire Siachen region.It is referred to as the Siachen conflict between India and Pakistan over the disputed Siachen Glacier region in Kashmir.
