Explanation:
Freud's Psychoanalytical Theory: This theory is propounded by Sigmund Freud.
Freud believed most of our mental life is unconscious and it is the past experiences that shape the overall behavioural pattern of a person throughout his life.
He used the analogy of an iceberg to describe the three levels of the mind.
The first level i.e. the conscious mind which constitutes the tip of the iceberg consists of all the mental processes that we are aware of. For example, if you feel hungry, you decide to have food.
The second level i.e. the subconscious mind contains thoughts and feelings that a person is not currently aware of. It remains here until it is brought to consciousness.
The third level i.e. the unconscious mind comprises mental processes that are inaccessible to consciousness but greatly influence our judgements, feelings, or behaviour.
