Solute : The substance present in low quantity which gets dissolved in the solution.

Solvent : The substance present in high quantity in which the solute gets dissolved.

For example : A milkman mixes the milk with water.

Here, water is present in less qunatity and gets dissolved in milk . Therefore it is the Solute .

And, the milk is present in the high quantity, so it is the Solvent .
