Answer:
All my family members were extremely ecstatic when I showed them my appointment letter as an aeronautical engineer in HAL in Mumbai. I was proud to be among the elite ten that had been selected from the thousands of applicants from across the country. It was indeed a privilege and a matter of great pride, a dream come true. Everyone wants to do something great in life that would make him different from others. Ever since I was a child, I had nurtured this personal goal-that of becoming an aeronautical engineer.
As a child, I had special fascination for planes and what made them fly, their mechanisms and everything related to them. I would sit for hours drawing figures of planes and pondering over their dimensions and the laws governing propulsion. Planes and helicopters became an obsession with me, so much so that I would often dream of flying one. I first set my goal of becoming a fighter pilot, if not, then a commercial pilot. I knew that the path I had chosen for myself was beset with difficulties and many hurdles and required great perseverance.
