There was an act of bravery that I've shown 9 years ago, back when my dad used to open up the pool to family and close friends. We would have constant pool parties so my siblings and cousins and I would sneak off to go to the corner store to buy candy while the parents are out drinking. Since I was the eldest among the others, I held responsibility over the youngsters. It happened so quickly as an incoming truck was going down the street at 40mph on a 25mph road, I grabbed my cousin's wrist right before the truck came to a screeching stop. My movements were definitely from instinct, but also I knew from the gecko that the cars passing through the neighborhood tend to speed.
