d^6 configuration will result in total spin of 2.

Explanation:

According to Pauli exclusion principle, in an orbital, no two electrons can have all the 4 quantum numbers same.

As we know d-subshell contains 5 orbitals. And maximum number of electrons is 10. Thus for a d^6 configuration will have 6 electrons in which 5 are unpaired and one is paired.

Thus the opposing spins will cancel each other and 4 electrons each will have a spin of half , resulting in overall spin of \frac{1}{2}\times 4=2.
