Differences between Bacterias and Viruses

  • Bacteria is a single-living cell.

Whereas, viruses are not considered to be living as they require a host to work-off.

  • Bacteria is a prokaryote, which means their DNA is contained within a certain area of the cell called the nucleoid, but not enclosed.

On the other hand, viruses consist of a piece of genetic material, such as DNA or RNA (but not both) surrounded by a protein shell called a capsid.

  • Antibiotics may be used to treat some bacterial infections, but they do not work against viruses.

  • Mostly bacterias are helpful to mankind, i.e only 1% of them are harmful in nature.

Whereas, all viruses, except some are dangerous and transmissible.
