Answer:

Speech or dialogues are reported in two ways - Direct Speech And Indirect Speech.

DIRECT SPEECH

When the exact words of the speaker are reported (Said) we call it Direct Speech.

INDIRECT SPEECH

When the exact words of the speaker are not reported, but just its contents are changed, we call it Indirect Speech.

Eg:- Direct Speech -- Amar said, "I shall come to meet you, tomorrow, Sanket."

Indirect Speech -- Amar told Sanket that he would go to meet him, the next day.

Changes observed in Indirect Speech

Whatever type of dialogue given in the Direct Speech may be any sentence that became Assertive in Indirect Speech.

Whatever inverted comma given in Direct Speech are removed in Indirect Speech.

Whatever verb used in Direct Speech are removed in Indirect Speech

There is change in Adverb 'tomorrow' that became ' the next day' in Indirect Speech.
