Speech or dialogues are reported in two ways - Direct Speech And Indirect Speech.
DIRECT SPEECH
→ When the exact words of the speaker are reported (Said) we call it Direct Speech.
INDIRECT SPEECH
→ When the exact words of the speaker are not reported, but just its contents are changed, we call it Indirect Speech.
Eg:- Direct Speech -- Amar said, "I shall come to meet you, tomorrow, Sanket."
Indirect Speech -- Amar told Sanket that he would go to meet him, the next day.
Changes observed in Indirect Speech
→ Whatever type of dialogue given in the Direct Speech may be any sentence that became Assertive in Indirect Speech.
→ Whatever inverted comma given in Direct Speech are removed in Indirect Speech.
→ Whatever verb used in Direct Speech are removed in Indirect Speech
→ There is change in Adverb 'tomorrow' that became ' the next day' in Indirect Speech.
