ANSWER:

The total distance travelled is 3km 432m.

Given :

Distance of market = 407 m towards East

Distance of office = 779 m towards West

Distance of medical shop = 241m towards South of the market

Distance of friend's house = 985m towards North of the market

To find :

Total distance covered by Daksha

Solution :

As she first went to the office, hence , the distance = 779m

Then she moved to the market, as market is towards the east, hence distance travelled by her to reach market = Distance back from office + Distance of market

= 779 + 407

= 1186 m

Then she moved to the medical shop which is towards South of market , hence distance travelled = 241m

Lastly she moved to friend's house towards North of market , hence distance travelled = Distance to travel back from medical shop + Distance to travel to friend's house

= 241 + 985

= 1226m

Therefore the total distance travelled by her = (779 + 1186 + 241 + 1226 )m

= 3432m

= 3km 432m

Hence, the total distance travelled is 3km 432m
