Answer:
All matter consists of indivisible particles called atoms. Atoms of the same element are similar in shape and mass, but differ from the atoms of other elements. Atoms cannot be created or destroyed. Atoms of different elements may combine with each other in a fixed, simple, whole number ratios to form compound atoms

POSTULATES OF DALTON'S ATOMIC THEORY :-
1.) Dalton said that atom is the smallest particle that can not be subdivided while atom contains protons , neutrons and electrons that are smaller than atom.
2.) Dalton said that similar atoms possesses similar properties while atoms of same element can differ in mass that are known by the name isotops.
3.)Dalton said that different atoms are different in all respects but atoms of different elements can be similar in mass.
4.) Dalton said that the ratio obtained by combining two or more atoms together will be simple whole number ratio while sucrose do not follow that and hence prove theory wrong.
