Answer:

Cause of concern: Ozone layer present in the stratosphere has thinned out by about 18 % over the equator and more so over the Antartica where a big ozone hole appears every year. This has increased the level of UV-B radiations reaching the earth by 15-20%. These radiations are causing increased number of skin cancers, cataracts and reduced immunity in human beings. There is increased incidence of blinding of animals ,death of young ones, reduced photosynthesis, higher number of mutations an damage to arteries.

Steps to limit damage:

(i) Dispose of pre-1995 refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioning units properly.

(ii) Ban on production and use of chloroflurocarbons.

Answer:

yes it's a cause for concern

Explanation:

as the earth doesn't receive direct sun rays....the sun rays are first absorbed by ozone layer so that a fitted and essential amount of heat is received by the earth and no damage by excessive heating is caused to the earth...... if the ozone layer wouldn't be there the earth would recive much of excessive heating and it would have become a burning desert with no life existing....... and if the ozone layer is getting damaged so it's a cause for concern because more heat than the required one will enter the earth and will cause change in temperature like excess hot day... and even cause damage to lifestyle specially plants and animals will be adversely affected....
