Danellia's Grandma has diabetes. However, Danellia is unsure what causes it. Use your knowledge based on the endocrine system to explain what might be taking place with her grandma's pancreas and identify a method that can be used to maintain a normal sugar/glucose level.

Insulin secreting cells in the pancreas are damaged by the immune system which stopped the production of insulin. If insulin is not produced glucose won't be forming glycogen, increasing the concentration of glucose in body.
