Dark reaction does not mean that it occurs in the absence of light i.e., at night. Infact, it is the reaction occuring simultaneously with light reaction. It a chemical process occurring independent of light. This reaction is completely based on enzymes.

Answer:

PHOTOSYNTHESIS PROCESS

Photosynthesis is the process and ability by which green plants  harness energy from sunlight into chemical energy to manufacture their own food to sustain their growth requirements. There are two types of photosynthetic processes: oxygen-photosynthesis and non-oxygen photosynthesis. Oxygen based photosynthesis is the most common and it occurs in plants like algae.

Dark reaction of photosynthesis does not occur because at night there is insufficient supply of carbon dioxide, a plant cannot photosynthesize, even in the presence of light. Also, when it is too cold, the rate of photosynthesis will drop thus low rate of production in plants thus at night plants does experience dark reaction due to changes in the temperatures.
