Explanation:

Dark cells (Type I cells) are electron-dense cells and have dark protoplasm, apical dense granules, and indented nucleus. Light cells (Type II cells) have light protoplasm and large, round nucleus. Intermediate cells (Type III cells) have similar nucleus as dark cells, but protoplasm of intermediate cells is lighter than that of dark cells. In addition to these three, basal cells (Type IV cells) are located near the base of taste bud and assumed to be progenitor cells...

Hope it will help you...

Darker denser part of the protoplasm is called nucleus.

Explanation :

  • Nucleus or karyon was first discovered by Robert brown (1831) in the cells of orchid roots.

  • It is darkly stained ,spherical and the largest cell organelle having composition as 9-12% DNA, 15% histones (basic protiens) ,15 % enzymes ,5% RNA ,3% lipids ,65% acidic and neutral protiens .

  • Nucleus have a double membrane with pores which is helpfull in maintaing its structure. ,a transparent granular matrix ( nucleoplasm /karyolymph),chromatin network and a sustainable spherical body called nucleolus.
