Darryl received a special offer from the local grocery store on gourmet pickle buckets. The size of a pickle bucket is 640 ounces, and for Downtown Deli, the price is only $32. Explain how Darryl would decide if this is a better buy than purchasing Brand D pickles at $0.20 per ounce. Should Darryl accept this price?

Answer:

For downtown deli:

The size of a pickle bucket is 640 ounces

so, total ounces+= 40

the price is only $32

So, total price =32

now, we can find price for each ounces

price for each ounce= (total price) / (total ounces)

Price for each ounce is =(32 over 640)

=0.05 $/ounce

And we are given

the purchasing brand D pickles at $0.20 per ounce

So, local grocery rate is cheaper

So, darryl should accept special offer from the local grocery store on the gourmet pickle buckets...

Your welcome. :D
