Imagine the case of the beetles. Imagine some of them to be blue and the rest to be green. The blue ones are more visible on green leaves and thus the crows will eat them more in number compared to the green beetles. Another example can be that of polar bears. There white fur enables them to be camouflaged thus protecting them from enemies and also helps them in sneaking up on their prey.
