Trypsin and pepsin present in the small intestine is an enzyme which breaks down proteins into peptones and peptides. trypsin is an enzyme which is present in the small intestine but it works only in the basic medium that is why bile juice is produced by the liver and and pepsin is an enzyme in the stomach which works only in the acidic medium therefore HCL forms to function that is churning of food and providing acidic medium for the enzyme pepsin to act and broke down protein into amino acid.
