To insert an audio or a video file is similar to that of inserting a picture. All you have to do is to go to the Insert Ribbon and click on the Video or Audio icon.
How PowerPoint deals with these files is different, this means, one has to move the media along with the presentation so that the video or audio can work.
Not all audio and video file types can work or are allowed in PowerPoint, and many are not cross-platform, so you need to know what computer you are using (Mac or Windows) as well as what additional software which is available if you are presenting on a computer that is not your own.
