Compare and contrast a weekly market with a shopping complex and

local grocery shop

Explanation:

  • Weekly markets are the ones held once a week. There are no permanent stores in these markets. In rural parts, small towns and cities  we can see weekly market Such weekly markets in nature are very old. Such markets have been open since ancient times. These markets are generally referred to as 'Haat' markets. Most goods are sold at cheaper rates on the weekly markets. Since they are not permanent, these stores save on expenses including rent, electricity and govt. fees. Since there are several shops selling the same item in these markets, there is heavy rivalry between them. Therefore, if a retailer charges a higher price, customers can purchase at cheaper rate from another retailer or encourage the allows the buyer to bargain to some extent.
  • A  grocery store is a retail store that mostly sells produce, new or preserved. Large supermarkets sell large amounts of non-food goods, including clothes and household items, which blurred the line between supermarkets and convenience stores. Typical foodstuffs are sold in a supermarket, along with fresh, frozen and packaged food, meats and dairy products.
  • Shopping malls are the locations with many shops in the urban areas. Malls are huge air-conditioned multi-storeyed buildings with shops on many floors. We get branded as well as non branded goods. Branded prices are higher than unbranded goods. The branded products are marketed in large urban markets by the firms, and even in showrooms. Most consumers are reluctant to purchase them because of their high costs due to packaging, ads etc.
