The difference between Second generation and third generation is as follows -

Second Generation Computers :

1. They used transistors

2. They used programming languages like COBOL and FORTNAN

3. They were not available to general public

4. They were very big

5. They consumed a lot of power

**extra point - They were slow in performing operations.

Third Generation computers:

1. They used Integrated circuit(chip)

2. They used programming languages like C, etc.

4. They were smaller than first generations

5. They consumed lesser power than second generations.
