DATE: Find the percent of concentration when 20 gof grams of Sugar is mixed in 60gram water has to be added to make it a 40 percent ?​

Since we have given that

Quantity of sugar = 20 gm

Quantity of water = 60 gm

We need to add more grams of sugar to make it a 40% solution.

We will use "Mixture and allegations":

Sugar water

20 60

+x

-------------------------------

40 : 60

so, 20+x = 40

x= 40-20

x=20 gm

Percent of concentration would be

\begin{gathered}\dfrac{20}{20+60}\times 100\\\\=\dfrac{20}{80}\times 100\\\\=\dfrac{1}{4}\times 100\\\\=25\%\end{gathered}

Hence, percent of concentration is 25% and 20 gm of sugar has to be added.
