Explanation:

Given that C1+C2=10μF (Parallel combination)       ...(1)

They are now connected to the same voltage source of 1V.

The energy stored in the two capacitors are given by

E1=21C1V2         E2=21C2V2

Given that E2=4E1

∴21C2V2=4×C1V2

∴C2=4C1        ....(ii)

From (i) and (ii),

C1+C2=C1+4C1=10μF.

5C1=10μF, C1=2μF

C2=10μF−C1=10μF−2μF=8μF.

When
