Though I have been staying near one of the greenest areas in Ahmedabad (near ATIRA) since the last five years, I have not seen a single sparrow anywhere. Now the common refrain in Ahmedabad is that sparrows have vanished from the city. My father in Bhubaneswar also tells me that sparrows are not to be seen there. I am told by friends from other big cities from across the country that they do not see sparrows in their cities.
