Solution :

Let the money David have be x

And the money carol have be 35 + x

• This Question is that of propagation

So , it can written as,

• 2:7 :: x : 35 + x

Substituting the values :

= 2:7 :: x : 35 + x

= $\dfrac {2}{7} = \dfrac {x}{35+x}$

= 7x = 2 (35+x)

= 7x = 70 + 2x

= 7x - 2x = 70

= 5x = 70

= x = $\dfrac {70}{5}$

= x = 14
