Answers
Given :-
- David bought 12 kg vegetables .
- From these vegetables he bought 7 kg 670 gram potatoes.
- 3 kg 42 gram onions.
- rest were tomatoes.
To Find :-
- What is the weight of tomatoes ?
Solution :-
we know that, 1 kg is equal to 1000 gm .
So,
→ Total vegetables bought by david = 12kg = 12 * 1000 = 12000gm .
and,
→ Total potatoes he bought = 7kg 670gm = 7 * 1000 + 670 = 7000 + 670 = 7670gm.
and,
→ Total onions he bought = 3kg 42 gm = 3 * 1000 + 42 = 3000 + 42 = 3042gm.
it is given that, rest were tomatoes.
Therefore,
→ weight of tomatoes = Total vegetables weight - (Total potatoes weight + Total onions weight.)
Putting values we get,
→ weight of tomatoes = 12000 - (7670 + 3042)
→ weight of tomatoes = 12000 - 10712
→ weight of tomatoes = 1288gm.
Now,
→ 1000gm = 1 kg
→ 1 gm = (1/1000) kg.
→ 1288 gm = (1/1000) * 1288 = 1288/1000 = 1 kg , 288gm.
Hence, weight of tomatoes is 1kg 288gram.
Given:-
- The Total Vegetables bought by David = 12kg.
- The Weight of Potatoes = 7 kg 670 gm
- The weight of Onions = 3kg 42gm
To Find:-
- The weight of the Tomatoes
Solution :-
We know the total Weight of vegetables bought by David = 12 kg.
- Converting 12 kg to grams by Multiplying 100.
- Total weight of vegetables = 12*1000=12000gm.
By this convert the Weight of onions and potatoes too.
- Weight of potatoes = 7 kg and 670gm.= 7*1000+670 = 7670gm.
- Weight of Onions = 3kg 42gm = 3*1000+42=3042gm.
- The rest is Tomatoes that is needed to be find out.
Now,
The Weight of tomatoes = Total Weight of vegetables - (Weight of potatoes + Weight of Onions )
- Weight of Tomatoes = 1200-(7670+3042)
- Weight of Tomatoes = 1288gm.
Weight of Tomatoes in kg = 1288/1000 = 1kg and 288gm.
