According to question:-

10% of X + 15% of (500000-X) = 60,000

X/10 + 15/100* 500000- 15X/100 = 60,000

X/10+ 75000-15x/100= 60,000

75000-60000= 15X/100-X/10

15000=(15X-10X)/100

15000= 5X/100

X= 15000*100/5

X= 3000*100

X= 300000

So it means he invested 3,00,000 at 10% p. a
