Distance between the mirror and David’s image, d2 = 4 m
Therefore, d1 = d2 = 4 m
If David moves 1 m towards the mirror, then d1 = 4 − 1 = 3 m
Again, d1 = d2 = 3 m
Therefore, the distance between David and his image is d1 + d2 = 3 + 3 = 6 m.

option c 6m is correct because
as we know that distance between image and mirror is equal to distance between mirror and objects .so total distance between object and image will be 8m and when he move 1m towards mirror then the distance between image and mirror will also decrease 1m. so total distance decreases will be 2m .
so answer will be 6m.
