Day 19.
This is another opinion based question, and actually quite amusing.

The question is this: Can you tell me why a building is called a building if it's already built?

There is no correct or intended answer, tell me what you think. Try not to copy, or spam irrelevant answers. Otherwise, I shall report it.

Answer:

it is called a building because the ‘ing’ in the English language is added to certain verbs to make them nouns. The verb ‘built’ is suffixed with ‘ing’ to make the thing a noun- Building.

Answer:

Further back in history, what we now call "buildings" were indeed called "builts". Builders were satisfied with this title and thought it only made sense until they realized it was causing too much confusion amongst civilians.

After dealing with years of families breaking up because of simple misunderstandings, the term for "builts" was finally officially changed to "buildings" instead. As it turned out, the word buildings left people less inclined to ask about the buildings themselves since they thought by it not yet being finished and still in the "building" process, whoever they asked might not have a clue to what was being built.
