Explanation:

☃️Given -

  1. Fourteen of the kids in the class are girls.
  2. Eight of the kids wear blue shirts.
  3. Two of the kids are neither girls nor wear a blue shirt.
  4. Five of the kids are girls who wear blue shirts.

☃️To find-

  • Total number of kids.

☃️Solution -

From the third statement we can say that there are two boys who are not wearing blue shirts.

Now, from the second statement we know that there are eight children wearing blue shirts and from the fourth statement we can definitely say that five of them are girls.

Hence, number of boys = 8 - 5

=> 3

So, from above it can be concluded that there are 5 boys in the class. (2 not wearing blue shirts and 3 wearing blue shirts.)

Total number of children = Total number of girls + total number of boys

→ Total number of children = 14 + 5

→ Total number of children = 19

there are 19 children in the class.
