Answer:
A DC motor or a DC machine consists of two windings namely field winding and armature winding. The field winding is stationary and armature winding can rotate.
The field winding produces a magnetic flux in the air gap between the armature and field windings and the armature is placed in this magnetic flux
Parts Used in Construction of DC Motor
The main parts used in the construction of a DC motor are the yoke, poles, field winding, commutator, carbon brushes bearings etc

DC MOTOR: A DC motor is any of a class of rotary electrical machines that converts direct current electrical energy into mechanical energy. The most common types rely on the forces produced by magnetic fields.
CONSTRUCTION:
- Insulated Copper wire: A rectangular coil of wire ABCD
- Magnet Poles: A magnet as placed above ie North Pole and South Pole. This creates a magnetic field as shown above.
- Split Rings: Two disjoint C-shaped rings P and Q. It acts as a commutator (which can reverse the direction of current)
- Axle: The split rings are placed on the axle which can rotate freely.
- Brushes: The outside of the split rings are connected to conducting brushes X and Y.
- Source Battery: To source current.
