Yes some plants can grow inside. If you have a particular plant in mind it would be best to research the plants needs. Light bulbs can have different spectrums that affect how color appears and growth.

Our saltwater fish tank with coral required special lighting for the coral to grow and thrive. The same coral can look to be a different color under a different spectrum.

I have a parrot and there are lightbulbs that simulate daylight better than typical bulbs.
