Now consider triangles, ADE and ABC

∠ADE = ∠ABC (Since BC || DE)

∠DEA = ∠BCA (Since BC || DE)

∠EAD = ∠CAB (Same Angles)

Hence, both the triangles are similar,

Hence , both the triangles will have their sides proportional to each other

i.e., AD/AB = AE/AC = DE/BC

Considering AD/AB = DE/BC

we have 1.5/6 = DE/8

DE = 2 cm
