Question :-

Dealer earned a profit of 10% by selling a radio of ₹880. Find the cost price of the radio .

Solution:-

Let the cost of radio be ₹x

Profit = 10%

Selling price = ₹ ( x + 10% of x )

Selling price x +10/100 x

= 110/100 x

Now, 110/100 x = 880

x = 880 × 100/110 = 800

Therefore ; The the cost price of the radio is ₹800.
