Given :

  • Initial velocity (u) = 5.5 m/s
  • Final velocity (v) = 1 m/s
  • Time (t) = 3 seconds

To find :

  • Acceleration

According to the question,

By using Newtons first equation of motion we will solve this question,

v = u + at

Where,

  • v stands for Final velocity
  • u stands for Initial velocity
  • a stands for Acceleration
  • t stands for Time

Putting the value according to the formula,

→ 1 = 5.5 + a × 3

→ 1 - 5.5 = 3a

→ - 4.5 = 3a

→ - 4.5 ÷ 3 = a

→ - 1.5 = a

.°. The acceleration is - 1.5 m/s²...
