Dear Children, earlier our India was very prosperous. It was known as the ‘Golden Sparrow’. People of India led a wealthy life style. As soon as the foreigners came to do business, they saw people here were very rich and no They first befriended our kings. And whom they befriended they killed them and snatched their kingdoms. Slowly they started exploiting people. They snatched our money, land everything. atrocities them and started killing them. People were very angry with Britishers but still they were tolerating their atrocities. Then when one day Mangal Pandey lit the fire of freedom in their hearts, people started a revolt against them.in which many of our freedom fighters took part in. This fight for the Independence had shaken the British rule in India. But we had to face defeat in this war. That too because some of our own people were helping them. Because of the help they got from our people the divided and rule and separated one part of our country from us which is known as Bangladesh today. As the time passed, the spirit of independence started showing its colour. The Indian freedom fighters organised a meeting in Jallianwala Bagh. But the britishers came to know of this meeting the opened fire at them. In this firing many of our freedom fighters died. There are many freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Raj guru, Sukhdev and Lala Lajpat Rai who gave their lives for the Independence Day. Mahatama Gandhi who taught us the lesson of Non- cooperation he first broke the ‘Namak Kanoon’. And told people to boycott the foreign goods. Then people burnt the Holi of foreign good. Then finally that day also came when Gandhi ji started leave Indian movement. People took part in this freedom struggle in great numbers. And the British rule was shaken Infront of this and the decided to realise India. And on 15th august India got freedom. So that is why we celebrate Independence Day as great pomp and show.
