I firmly disagree with the topic, "Technology will prove to be the downfall of man".
Here are some points that support my stand:
- Automation of many tasks saves time- Many tasks have been automated. This reduces the amount of time humans need to manually spend on certain tasks. For example, we can easily look up our bank balance on our phones, instead of first going to the bank and then requesting someone to look through the paper records. Similarly, monthly bills are automatically sent out via email as soon as they are generated, thus saving time and allowing people to pay on time.
- Advancement in the medical field saves lives- Various vaccinations that have been developed help save lives. Many other medical procedures help in quick detection and timely treatment of patients.
- Error percentage reduced- Information technology has been effectively utilised in many fields. As a result, the errors made in monotonous tasks have been reduced. This has reduced wastage and improved efficiency, especially in the manufacturing field.
Many other examples indicate that technology only helps humans progress, and will never be the cause of man’s downfall.
