When you say something like Advantageous or Harmful you aren't saying right or wrong, and there’s an important discrepancy there. We are taught to be honest because the truth is more real, and leaves a clean conscious; though you will find that people around you will always lie, and being truthful can put you out of place. In our society overestimation and fibs are tools so it’s imperative to know how and when which is more advantageous. For the most part, if you choose to exercise it, you will find that a lot of it boils down to certain people. Some have a grasp of reality that makes honesty more potent, but that normally applies more to people you know on a personal level. For the much larger majority lying, and lying well, will be more beneficial for you and for them.
