Lord Ullin's daughter decided to run away with her lover in order to be with him, and in the process defied her father's wishes about her not getting married to her lover.
She did this fully aware that her father and her lover belonged to clans which were at odds with each other.
She also knew that in the event of her father's men catching them, her lover would be killed.
Therefore it can be said she was acting selfishly.
