IS IT IMPORTANT TO TEACH GIRL CHILD?
Girls are the pillars of the society. All of the residers of the world have got the right to education, and in India, even our Constitution provides us with the Right to Education to all children upto the age of 14. But, even after such strict rules and regulations, still, in the countryside, we find people making their daughters do household chores or laboring, and are not allowed to study. They are expected to be quiet and not speak out in public. They are married very early and are prohibited from reading and writing.
In the Indian society, we often find parents contradicting each other’s views on education, and are remarked off as “PARAYA DHAN”. All of us know that a child spends most of his/ her time with his/her mother. So, when a mother would herself be illiterate, what would she teach her children.
India comprises of male – dominant societies. There is happiness all around when a male child is born. But, what about the mother who gave birth to him? Was she not a girl some day? Why was she condemned then? Could we be having men without women?
When our Constitution respects all girls, when it itself emphasizes upon EQUALITY BEFORE LAW, who are we to be judgemental, on what is right and what is wrong? If bringing a girl child in the family and teaching her can be condemned, why can’t male teaching be barred? Just because men earn, so , can’t girls earn? Would teaching them be inimical to the society? Would that cause harm to human beings?
The answer is NO. Then, why can’t we change our thinking? We have adopted to all the major changes , right? We have made our works easier by using all sorts of technological equipments, then why can’t we adopt to this change that girls shall also study? Why can’t we respect their rights? Aren’t they human beings? Are they incapable of doing anything?
If one fish dirties the whole pond, the other ones can clean it too! This won’t mean that the others may also be like that. Therefore, we shall understand the modern concepts, we shall teach them. In fact, it has already taken a form in cities. All of the girls, including me, go to school! We are studying in an English medium schools, and are enjoying all privileges that guys of our age do! The only problem is with the villagers, they are still the same as they were 100 years ago!
They ought to learn that LEARNING ITSELF ISN’T DESTRUCTIVE, NOR DO GIRLS ARE. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THE INTELLECTUALITY OF HUMANS AND A PASSION TO LEARN.
Where there is a will, there is a way! Have a zeal to learn, and the potential to succeed, all your obstacles will itself drive away…..

If you educate a man, you educate an individual. But if you educate a woman, you educate a nation. When girls are educated, their countries become stronger and more prosperous. One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.
