In favour of the topic:

1. Parents have already experienced it- Most problems are the ones that each individual experiences. So, it is quite possible that parents have already experienced the situations that we are facing currently. They know what is to be done, even though we may not agree.

2. Parents are able to see the bigger picture- While we are focussed on small issues, parents are capable of stepping back and understanding the bigger picture. They are better able to guide us about short-term and long-term goals and benefits.

3. Parents have an established network to depend on- Parents are connected to an extensive network of people. We as children are not in touch with so many people and also do not know for sure who is trustworthy and who is not. Our parents have spent so many years interacting with those they know that they are well aware of who gives honest and sincere advice and who doesn’t.

Against the topic:

1. Parents have not experienced everything- There is a difference between what parents faced during their younger days and the problems faced by children today. Times have changed and so has the mindset of people in general. So, parents might not know it all. For example, not many parents will know or support career options like that of a gamer or a blogger.

2. Parents are ethically fixated on the past- Parents come from a generation that practiced all the moral values they were taught. Life was much simpler. However, nowadays, ethics are not a priority. That itself changes the perspective on everything, and so what parents feel may be applicable to the past, but might not be applicable today.

3. Parents have different priorities- To parents, things like studying close to home or taking up a job locally may be more important than a child going abroad to pursue a course or establishing a career. They want the child to be well looked after and well-fed, rather than understanding the importance of kickstarting a successful career.

Explanation:

The statement that parents are always rights stands right in majority of the cases. The word always can be discussed but the experience they have, make them far better judge of the situation of their children than any body else even the children. One more reason is the well understanding of the nature of children and their potential under certain situations because parents are the ones who have brought up their children. parents also have far sightedness, a quality that helps them in making near future decisions rights
