If you campare technology with books then obviously this generation would prefer technology. If you want to increase your knowledge and imagination power then reading books never be outdated.
If your question is straight forward about books. Then my answer is a BIG NO.
There are people who get inspired by reading books and became billionaires and they still do. Reading books — That's how knowledge works. It builds up, like a compound interest.
A wise man once said that “Don't become a philosopher until you get rich”. So let's listen to some of dialecticians who inspired by reading books and became billionaires. Take an example, Warren Buffett he reads between 600 to 1000 pages per day when he was beginning his investing career, and still devotes about 80 percent of each day to reading. Bill Gates he still gobbles up about a book a week. Elon Musk that's how he learned to build rockets. There are so many successfull people who still read books daily.
Things that books can do —
They increase your focus
They sets goals
They teach you how to spend time wisely
They teach you how to look at all types perspectives
They increase your writing and speaking skills
They help to increase your memory
Some books have the ability to entertain you for a few hours; however, others are capable of touching your heart and changing your life.
So, reading books will never get outdated. From a Book Lover.
