Children under 14 should not be allowed to use social media:

With lots of negativity on social media these days, it is advisable to not allow children under 14 years to use social media. They are prone to see all kind of subjects on the internet. Though there are lots of advantages ranging from acquiring knowledge to developing the skills, one can also indulge in bad activities.  

Children under 14 years learn what their parents say and do, instead of what they are taught. Therefore, the first approach to teach them the right usage of social media should be from their parents. They should do constructive things on the internet in front of their children.
