Good morning everyone. Esteemed judges, guests on the dais, teachers and my fellow students. My name is Chamkour Ambarsariya (add me on FB for quick response), and today I will be speaking for the topic "Dams are the best way for utilisation of river water." Dams have life long uses. They can be used for producing electricity and for supplying water to drought prone areas but these are their only limited uses only.

When a dam come to existence due to it people of that area have to face more hassle. That is why because of many of the dams that are built only cater to the people living in the surrounding areas. The water fails to reach to the poor farmers and those who are on the lower level pushing them into poorer conditions.
The people who are displaced for building dams are never given proper places to live, their business affects badly and they are left in poverty. The poor farmers cannot even bathe and feed their cattle. Even if they are given new places to live, the places have poor infrastructure and no proper facilities. The Displaced are not only affected economically but also psychologically as they are unable to adjust in new environments and get stress because of their financial problems. They may even face hostilities from the pre-existing communities that live there. Many tribal communities lose their rights on water bodies and a sense of customs and traditions is lost.

The government does not pay heed to the pleas of the people and no strict laws have been passed for the people. The promises that are made to people being displaced are never fulfilled. Although Dams are extremely expensive to build. Hydropower dams alter the lifestyle of aquatic organism of the river. It also have an adverse impact on fertility of soil, evaporation pattern, cropping pattern too.

By 2020, it is projected that the percentage of power obtained from hydro power dams will decrease to around four percent because no new plants are in the works, and because more money is being invested in other alternative energy sources such as solar power and wind power. Thank you for your patient hearing.

If u got your answer then rate 5 and comment also how was it.

Dams are rightfully the best utilization of the river water and the resources available from the rivers.

As the dam blocks the river water from flowing freely, this water can be used successfully for irrigation of all the neighboring lands that are used for agriculture.

The sediments brought in by the flowing river water also can be utilized for increasing the fertility of these coastal lands.

The dam walls stop the migration of the fishes, which help them to grow without any fear of getting extinct in unfavorable conditions.
