Because it all depends on her psychological state and the society's behaviour towards her. children are like clay and their structure is in their parents and the society. if she had involved with evil it'll not be her fault but people will take her as a curse. because the circumstances in which she grew up are going to take the whole responsibility. But if she became a good person the people will take her as boon.

For the above reasons I think that it is quite impossible to think whether a girl is boon or curse. Hence, girl child is neither a boon nor a curse. It all depends on the hands of the society and the parents.
