Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, announced that Indian scientists shot down a live satellite at a low-earth orbit in a missile test. He termed the test "Mission Shakti". With this, India became the fourth country after the United States, Russia and China to have carried out such feat. The satellite was in orbit at 300 kilometres (185 miles). The PM Modi also said the India will not use its space capability against any nation but is purely India's defence initiative for its security. We're against arms raised in space.
