Poetry should be removed, Or at least the current method of teaching should The standard and method in teaching poetry in schools is below intellectual thinking. Poetry should be about ones own personal interpretation of the poets work, Not a standerdised interpretation. I have never seen a poet say "yes, Thats exactly what my work meant, Good job". Students should be tested on their own creative thinking, And not the ability to parrot-learn poetry

Maths, But 2 English subjects for GCSE. We already study complex language in Macbeth which is pretty much just a long poem. The English Language already acts as a huge subject anyway, And if English and Maths are so important, How come English is two subjects in the UK, But Maths is only 1. Surely more students favour Maths over English, So why do we have to do 2 English Subjects?

It isn't close to necessary. You see, School teaches what you need throughout life, And for someone who looks at things as they are, Poetry gets difficult to understand and I can't see the purpose behind it. Poetry is dying, And there isn't anything anyone can do to stop it. Try and name 5 modern day poets. Most people can't. I do not see the purpose of writing in the most indirect way possible to describe something. If hope is like a bird, Simply say hope is like a bird, Not "Hope is the Thing with Feathers" (by Emily Dickinson). It can be impossible to decipher what they are saying and frankly, They tend to use absurd language. I think that it is a useless subject and should not be part of a school's curriculum as it really only confuses those with straightforward minds.

It is so boring This subject is not normally used in everyday life and only a few jobs require this skill to be used, Such as a poet, Writer, Journalist, Author and lyricist. On a day to day basis it isn't the most useful, Needed or exciting topic people would want to know about. No point to it Reading over a poem you have never seen is stressful and makes no sense what so ever and a simple message which is hidden behind 5000 different pointless techniques which are used to cover it make it more convoluted. All of it is very cryptic and takes centuries to find out what the does it means

please mark branliest as it took almost 1 hour to write
