A sound educational and health system certainly makes a Nation developed and advanced. It helps in improving the standard of living and longevity of its people. It makes life more comfortable. Security of a Nation, on the other hand is dependent on externals factors, which may have no relation with your health and educational levels.
Security of a Nation may be from external aggressive neighbors (China and Pakistan for India), internal disturbances (proxy wars or anti-national elements) or terrorist attacks as all over the world or even lone wolf attacks (as in some of European countries). In all these eventualities you need a well trained and equipped security forces.
After the Twin Tower terrorist attack in America, no Nation feels safe. A terrorist can reach anywhere, taking advantage of his better education and latest technology. The World has realized today that a terrorist for one, is a terrorist for all. He has no sympathies for any country, religion or people. Thus, Security of a Nation, is as important for its existence, as Education and Health of its people.
